Notes

'Maria's Joy' pawpaw (Asimina triloba 'Maria's Joy') is a tree for the food garden, grown for its large fruit with sweet, custardy yellow flesh. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun. The burgundy flowers open in early to late spring. The fruit ripens from mid season to late season and does best in warm summer climates. You need two different plants for cross pollination.

Pairs well with Golden Delicious apple, Pecan, Autumn fern, and Thimbleberry.
