Notes
'KSU-Benson' pawpaw (Asimina triloba 'KSU-Benson') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun. It ripens in mid season and can carry heavy crops of custardy fruit that tastes like banana, mango, and cantaloupe. Burgundy flowers open in early to late spring. You need two different plants for cross pollination.
Pairs well with Golden Delicious apple, Pecan, Bloodroot, and Thimbleberry.
