Notes

'Mary Gretchen' peony (Paeonia 'Mary Gretchen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Anne Oveson introduced it in 1995, and its salmon pink double blooms open early on sturdy stems that stand up to wind, rain, and early frost. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Clustered bellflower, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Nodding onion.
