Notes

'Mary Lena' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mary Lena') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type flowers have pale pink outer petals. The center holds white fringed petaloids that look like shredded cabbage. Mrs. Walter Campbell Lyman bred it.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Cinnamon fern, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
