Notes

'Mauna Loa' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mauna Loa') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms so early that it often flowers with the hybrid Red Charm. The full double blooms are deep rosy red and large for a red peony. They open well when you cut them in bud.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, Wild bergamot, and Queen of Night tulip.
