Notes

'Maximus' peony (Paeonia 'Maximus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant, double blooms open blush pink and fade to creamy white on strong stems about 30 inches tall. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Stained Glass hosta, Eastern columbine, Nodding onion, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
