Notes
'Maxine Armstrong' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Maxine Armstrong') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Hans Peter Sass bred it. The full double white flowers open in early summer and often have a pink tint in cool weather. The stems sometimes bow in hard storms, so you may want to stake them.
Pairs well with Siberian iris, Wild bergamot, and Queen of Night tulip.
