Notes

'May Joy' peony (Paeonia 'May Joy') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows about 23 inches tall and bears fragrant, double, light salmon-pink blooms that attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Praying Hands hosta, Nodding onion, and Switchgrass.
