Notes

'May Oleson' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'May Oleson') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single, light shell pink flowers have one row of overlapping petals around many dainty yellow stamens. They bloom in medium season, stand erect on the stem, and last well in a vase. Oleson bred it.

Pairs well with New England aster, Prairie dropseed, and Black Hero tulip.
