Notes

'Meridian' peony (Paeonia 'Meridian') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant blooms are rose red with black flares. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, June hosta, Nodding onion, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
