'Merrigold' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Merrigold') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It is a Japanese type with large, bright, violet pink petals. A bunch of long, stiff, rich yellow petaloids stands in the center of each bloom.
Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
