Notes

'Merton Glory' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'Merton Glory') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. Its columnar form grows at a moderate pace, and spring blooms draw butterflies and bees. The early fruit is grown for fresh eating, and you need a second cherry tree nearby because it is not self-fertile. John Innes Research bred it in the 1930s.

Pairs well with Showy milkweed, Paul Scherer tulip, and Dropmore Scarlet honeysuckle.
