Notes

'Meteor' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Meteor') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese form blooms in rich red with green carpels tipped in white. Stiff stems hold the medium-height plants upright. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.

Pairs well with Anise hyssop, Blanket flower, and Switchgrass.
