Notes

'Midsummer Joy' peony (Paeonia 'Midsummer Joy') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The blooms are medium yellow with reddish centers, and Derek Irvine bred it in 2001. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Blue star, Balloon flower, and Niobe clematis.
