Notes
'Milky Way' peony (Paeonia 'Milky Way') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The mid yellow blooms have black and red tinged flares and open in early to late spring. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Derek Irvine bred it, and Southern Charm Paeonies introduced it in 2001.
Pairs well with Blue star, Balloon flower, and Blue fescue.
