Notes
'Minerve' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Minerve') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, single pink blooms open early and show carmine-pink shading. Auguste Dessert bred it in 1909. The plant stays medium in size and compact.
Pairs well with Quick Fire panicle hydrangea, Stargazer lily, and Garlic chives.
