Notes

'Ming Joy' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ming Joy') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The glossy, deep red double blooms are average in size and make good cut flowers. William Henry Krekler bred it in 1977.

Pairs well with Obedient plant, Japanese spirea, and Royal fern.
