Notes

'Minnekada' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Minnekada') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type flowers open in early summer in lavender that blends to rose-pink. Eugene H. Lins bred it in 1950. Sun can fade the unique color, so shade the blooms and cut them to enjoy indoors.

Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, Cinnamon fern, and Goldenseal.
