Notes

'Miyajima' Japanese white pine (Pinus parviflora 'Miyajima') is a shrub for borders, containers, specimen planting, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. This slow growing evergreen stays dense and small, at 24 to 36 inches tall, and it is drought tolerant and salt tolerant. Birds visit it, and the needles are fragrant. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Sedge, Boxwood, and Fountain grass.
