Notes

'MonRigney' weigela (Weigela Florida 'MonRigney') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The arching branches grow at a moderate rate. Flowers appear in spring and again in summer, and they attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Quick Fire panicle hydrangea, Little bluestem, and Minuteman hosta.
