Notes
'Monte Cassino' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Monte Cassino') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Late blooming semi-double flowers are glossy crimson with a narrow, silver margin. The strong, red stems stand upright, so you do not need to stake them.
Pairs well with Patriot hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Quick Fire panicle hydrangea.
