Notes
'Patriot' hosta (Hosta 'Patriot') is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a mound of variegated leaves about 22 inches tall and 50 inches wide, and lavender flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Give it room to spread.
Pairs well with Aureola Japanese forest grass, Bigleaf hydrangea, and Astilbe.
