Notes

'Moreno' black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta 'Moreno') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Its mahogany-red petals surround a deep purple to black cone. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, New England aster, PowWow White coneflower, and Nodding onion.
