Notes

'Sahara' rudbeckia (Rudbeckia hirta 'Sahara') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The yellow and rose blooms suit small bouquets and design work, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The plant also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with PowWow White coneflower, Little bluestem, Culver’s root, and Nodding onion.
