Notes

'Morning Candle' bear's breeches (Acanthus mollis 'Morning Candle') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It forms a clump 24 to 36 inches tall and grows quickly. Tall flower spikes open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and butterflies visit them.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Purple top, Bellflower, and Yarrow.
