Notes

'Oak Leaf' bear's breeches (Acanthus mollis 'Oak Leaf') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a clump up to 60 inches tall and 36 to 48 inches wide, with white and lilac flowers in spring and again in summer. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Once settled, it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Patriot hosta, Coral Charm peony, and Azalea.
