Notes
Mountain thistle (Acanthus montanus) is a perennial for naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It grows 48 to 72 inches tall and spreads 24 to 36 inches, so give it plenty of room. Pink to rose flowers open in early to mid summer.
Pairs well with September Charm anemone, Mondo grass, and Society garlic.
Native range
Western tropical Africa.
