Notes

'Morning Mist' prairie dropseed (Sporobolus heterolepis 'Morning Mist') is a grass for borders, rock gardens, accents, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The arching clump grows slowly to 18 to 36 inches tall and turns color in fall. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Birds visit the plant, and its pale brown blooms open in summer and autumn.

Pairs well with Hairy aster, Matrona october daphne, and Limeglow creeping juniper.
