Notes

Mountain aloe (Aloe marlothii) is a succulent for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Deer tend to pass it by. It can reach about 8 to 10 feet tall and stays evergreen, and hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit its flowers.

Pairs well with Aeonium, American century plant, and Stonecrop.
