Notes

'Murasame' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Murasame') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and wet soil. Flowers open from early to late summer. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Cut the blooms for bouquets when you want color indoors.

Pairs well with Red October big bluestem, Sweet flag, Kopper King aloalo, and Jim Dandy winterberry.
