Notes

'NCCS4' flowering quince (Chaenomeles speciosa 'NCCS4') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 48 to 60 inches tall and wide with a broad habit. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Peachy-orange flowers attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds.

Pairs well with Purple Pillar rose of sharon, Ornamental onion, and Indian grass.
