Notes

'Nerva' peony (Paeonia 'Nerva') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Early red semi-double flowers have frilled petals and face outward. Joshua Scholten bred it, and the upright stems do not need support.

Pairs well with Limelight hydrangea, Nodding onion, and Switchgrass.
