Notes

'Nightcat' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Nightcat') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its single dark red flowers have yellow and red filaments and open from late spring to early to mid summer. The stems are not tall, and the medium green leaves look good all season. Professor Harald Fawkner bred it.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Indian grass, and Stargazer lily.
