Notes

'Nippon Princess' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Nippon Princess') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its Japanese-type blooms are a bright cerise pink with a pink and yellow center. Edward Auten, Jr bred it, and it won an award at the 1931 National Peony Show.

Pairs well with Indian Summer rudbeckia, Carlton daffodil, and Sensitive fern.
