Notes

'Noel' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Noel') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its double, clear red blooms measure up to 7 inches wide and open in mid to late spring and early summer. The flowers sit on extra tall stems, so you may want to stake them. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.

Pairs well with Japanese spirea, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Cinnamon fern.
