Notes

'Northern Lights' apple (Malus domestica 'Northern Lights') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a moderate rate and forms a dense shape. Bees visit the spring flowers, which open from early to late spring. The New York State Agricultural Experiment Station bred it in 1990 from Haralson and McIntosh.

Pairs well with Chokecherry, Blue grama, and Stargazer lily.
