Notes

'Northern Lights' camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Northern Lights') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, foundation plantings, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and has an arching, evergreen habit. Bees visit the fragrant flowers in early to late autumn and again in early to late winter. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Common holly, Carolina jessamine, and Catnip.
