Notes

'Northern Star' lily-of-the-nile (Agapanthus 'Northern Star') is a perennial for borders, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Dark-blue flowers with a violet-blue stripe on each petal bloom from early to late summer. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. In cold winter regions, grow it in a pot and keep it at around freezing in winter.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Balloon flower, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
