Notes

'Nymphaea' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Nymphaea') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The creamy white blooms open with a pale rose-pink flush and have a cupped shape. Many stamens give the flowers a golden glow, and they smell mildly fragrant. Stiff stems hold the flowers up, and George C. Thurlow bred it.

Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Royal fern, and Spanish bluebell.
