Notes
'Rubra Plena' peony (Paeonia officinalis 'Rubra Plena') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears full, double, deep red blooms like the old red peonies of grandmothers' gardens. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The fragrant flowers attract bees and butterflies.
Pairs well with Moonshine yarrow, Nodding onion, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
