Notes

'Old Home' pear (Pyrus communis 'Old Home') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms from early to late spring, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers. Professor Reimer of Oregon State College bred it in 1910.

Pairs well with Plum, Empire apple, Woolly yarrow, and Switchgrass.
