Notes

'Old Soldier' peony (Paeonia 'Old Soldier') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large red semi-double flowers fade to pink-red as they age. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. William J. Seidl bred it.

Pairs well with Quick Fire panicle hydrangea, Blonde Ambition blue grama, Queen of Night tulip, and Autumn Frost hosta.
