Notes

Ornamental onion (Allium neapolitanum) is a bulb for borders, containers, rock gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. It bears fragrant white blooms in spring and again in summer, and butterflies and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It is also drought tolerant.

Pairs well with Star of persia, Foxglove, and Excelsior Spanish bluebell.

Southern Europe and northern Africa.
