Notes
'Oxford Blue' scabiosa (Scabiosa atropurpurea 'Oxford Blue') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It shrugs off cool spells and light frost, though a hard freeze will damage it. This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy or loamy soil. The fragrant lavender blue blooms make an elegant, uniform cut flower and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer rarely make it their first choice. The clumping plants reach 24 to 36 inches tall.
Pairs well with Apricotta cosmos, Gladiator ornamental onion, Green Spice coral bells, and Flamingo Feather celosia.
