Notes
'Ozawa' ornamental onion (Allium thunbergii 'Ozawa') is a bulb for the food garden. It is typically grown as an annual. It is one of the more cold-hardy crops and can keep growing through light freezes with some winter protection. This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Red-violet flowers open in early to mid autumn on drought tolerant plants that stand 9 to 12 inches tall.
Pairs well with Salad burnet, Dark Opal basil, and Honeoye strawberry.
