Notes

'Patriarch' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Patriarch') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Tall stems carry flat, pale pink semi-double flowers that look soft and light in the garden. The blooms are light pink, so they pair well with bolder colors nearby. William Henry Krekler bred it in 1977.

Pairs well with Aromatic aster, Sedge, and Matrona october daphne.
