Notes
'Pendens' pond cypress (Taxodium distichum 'Pendens') is a tree for specimen planting and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a moderate rate and tolerates drought and salt. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Birds visit the tree, so give it plenty of room to spread.
Pairs well with Cinnamon fern, Sweet pepperbush, and Cardinal flower.
