Notes
'Zhongshansa' pond cypress (Taxodium 'Zhongshansa') is a tree for specimen use and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet soil. It can reach 50 to 70 feet tall and 20 to 30 feet wide, so give it plenty of room. It sits low on the menu for deer. It does not flower, so you grow it for its form.
Pairs well with Wax myrtle, Thalia, and Redwood.
