Notes

'Perihelion' peony (Paeonia 'Perihelion') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, fragrant, bright-red single cups open early in the season and attract bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Prof. Harald Fawkner bred it.

Pairs well with Stained Glass hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Nodding onion.
