Notes

'Persian Star' garlic (Allium sativum 'Persian Star') is a bulb for vegetable gardens, kitchen gardens, and raised beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Each bulb holds 6 to 9 cloves, and the flavor is a balanced mix of sweet and spicy. The bulbs store for 4 to 6 months, and the wrappers are beautiful. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Ring of Fire sunflower, Queeny Lemon Peach zinnia, and Dr. Alexander Fleming peony.
